The Yukon North Slope Digital Map Atlas is a map library that highlights and presents key spatial data that was considered by the Council in developing the Yukon North Slope Wildlife Conservation and Management Plan (2023). The development of the Plan involved explicit consideration of the spatial distribution and extent of ecological and cultural values for the North Slope. This involved significant investment in compiling existing spatial data and generating new spatial information (research, modeling, and analysis efforts - see also the Companion Reports and Technical Reports). The Digital Map Atlas was created to synthesize and display these data in a user-friendly manner.
The Digital Map Atlas, prepared for the Council by Round River Conservation Studies, contains ten thematic maps for the Yukon North Slope region, highlighting the available spatial information on cultural and ecological values. Each map provides additional visualization of base data to place the values displayed within their ecological, cultural, and management contexts.
The maps must be displayed using an Adobe PDF reader, which can be downloaded for free here. For full use of the Digital Map Atlas, read the User Guides before diving in.
